The Commission is inviting eligible and motivated legal officers to apply for one post of Joint Registrar and four posts of Assistant Registrar, both filled on a deputation basis.

Eligibility Criteria and Essential Qualifications

For the Post of Joint Registrar

To be eligible for the NHRC Joint Registrar Assistant Registrar Vacancy, candidates must:

  1. Be officers of the Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous or Statutory Organisations, Universities, or Recognised Research Institutions.
  2. Hold an analogous post regularly in the parent cadre or department.
  3. Possess a degree in Law from a recognised University.
  4. Have at least five years of experience in Court matters or any other post involving the interpretation or application of statutes.

The Joint Registrar will be expected to handle complex legal matters, oversee human rights litigation, and coordinate between NHRC and legal departments for statutory compliance.

For the Post of Assistant Registrar

To qualify for this post, candidates must:

  1. Be officers belonging to the same categories of institutions mentioned above.
  2. (i) Hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department, or
    (ii) Have completed seven years of regular service in Level-8 (Rs. 47,600-1,51,100) or equivalent pay matrix.
  3. Possess a degree in Law from a recognised University.

The Assistant Registrar will assist in legal research, human rights case coordination, and drafting reports under NHRC’s statutory mandate.
